How to Get Rid of Onion Smell

Depending on the variety, onions can be sharp, spicy, tangy, pungent, mild or sweet. It is often used as a base for curries, or made into a paste and eaten as a main course or as a side dish. Unfortunately, after sprinkling onions, you may find that you still have their smell on your hands for hours afterward. Although onions taste good, this smell is another story.

The smell of onions lingers and lingers long after the delicious meal is over. It sticks to the fingers and nail area with fury. It also affects your breath! Of course, onions have a very strong smell, because onion oil contains 1-propenyl sulfenic acid, which is thought to be a lacrimator in onions. The brain is involved in telling your tear ducts to release more water to dilute the acid that irritates the eyes to protect them. All you’re doing is probably wiping your eyes, but that’s only going to make your anger worse, especially if you have onion juice on your hands.
